Short and plain thing before tonights ‘battle’….

Tonight we are havin’ a guest at the radio show. Joonas Nissinen a.k.a. Dubba Jones from the Dreadmark collective is coming to the studio with us and he is going to deliver us one hour set of deep and rollin’ steps flavoured with his own production so be sure to tune in at 7 pm (GMT +2). For some extra we are going to have a little chat about his upcoming document project about Finnish dubstep culture!

Stinks & I (M-za) made a mixtape for Finnish web magazine KEHTO’s mixtape series “KEHTOblaster Sessions”. I strongly recommend you to check this one out.

Because the article is in Finnish here’s a short English summary about the mix:

Style of the mix was clear to us from the very beginning. We wanted to do a cross genre/style mix which still contains the primitive rhythms and bass frequencies that have always attracted us in dubstep. The mix is a kind of our vision of where bass music is heading in 2011 so all the tracks are also quite new, except a few tracks that have been ahead of their time.

I’m gonna start this thing ofcourse with stuff from Finland. The tune and the mix are really moody and sometimes even dark. The TUNE of the week is pure dubstep-gold and comes ofcourse from our trusted producer friends from Tampere – Vesicle. Their brand new track called “We are Lost” just made my monday. The tune got amazing atmosphere made by nice female lyrics, chill guitar samples and ofcourse Vesicles trademark “mörköläskibasso” as Stinks put it (meaning something like fat-spooky-bass“) . We are Lost is going to be realeased from Paradise Lost in near future. Gotta say that this one is going to be played at next weeks Concusssion dubstep special

The MIX of the week is also from Finland. But the thing about it is that not only the DJ is from Finland but also all the tracks are from Finland. This drum’n'bass mix is also really moody and dark. I have been listening it a lot lately. The mix contains 10 great tracks from finnish producer called Furi Anga. You may have heard his tracks for example at finnish extreme travelling show Madventures. If you are interested about the soundtracks go and check out this page. The mix is made by DJ Wispy (who btw. was guest at Concussion show few months ago). I think that the tags what Furi Anga has made at his soundcloud will give you the best picture about what you gonna get.

I’m totally lovin’ these dubstep tunes with some amen drums and jungle vibes nowadays.  <3

New period just kicked off at school (JEEIIJJ!!) and I realized that I’m neck deep at these lab raports and other assingments. So here I am “studying” and writing something about toxicology… For me it’s quite important to have something to listen to when I’m working or studying so here’s something I bumped into this time. This quy called Lung (not the fist time I’m being shouting about him ) posted about his new interview for Knowledge Magazine aka KMag and I had to check that out. There was also his quest mix and I have to say it was great.  The mix was all about good vibes and nice melodies (as the whole Kokeshi label) so it was really nice to listen while trying to study…
